Master perfumer Lorenzo Villoresi distills Ortigia perfume from the flowers of Sicily, capturing the essence of the island's rich flora. The base of all Ortigia products is natural perfume and natural ingredients, including olive oil, vegetable glycerine, and organic colours. With a commitment to ethical and sustainable practices, Ortigia products are free from SLS, nickel, silicone, and are never tested on animals. Paraben-free, the range blends traditional ingredients with modern ethics and integrity.

The name Ortigia is derived from the small island situated at the edge of the ancient fortified city of Siracusa, on Sicily’s southeastern coast. Ortigia is known for its picturesque streets lined with crumbling baroque façades, offering breathtaking views of the sea. The Piazza del Duomo, located in Ortigia, is renowned as one of Italy's most beautiful squares.

Sicily's southeastern region, known as "la Sicilia Orientale," boasts a near-tropical climate and fertile volcanic soil. Mount Etna, Europe’s highest active volcano, enriches the island with its volcanic soil, nurturing vibrant orange and lemon groves, grapefruit trees, almonds, pistachios, saffron, vines, olives, and cacti.
