2023 was full of events, travel, team celebrations, new collections and of course a Dressing room Baby!

Events: 

We kicked off with our Spring Launch event raising money for the Azaylia foundation. We welcomed some fabulous brand founders to the store with our Dea Kudibal meet the founder event, Dea flew over especially for the event, which you loved!  Jeff Abrams, founder of Rails LA flew over from LA to meet the team and customers.    

The middle of the year was marked by our fantastic Barn Sale – what an event that was and what a stunning location in the height of Summer.

We celebrated our 18^th Birthday in May with our Summer event and had our Scandi street style event in September followed by the Denim Masterclass in October.

In November, we welcomed the lovely Becky Hosmer from Anna Beck jewellery to the store and finished the year off with a meet and greet with our Rachel Jackson personalisation event.   

Charity: 

With your support we raised £850 for the Azaylia Foundation and £1185 for the Sparklets Cancer Charity.  Thankyou for your support, as always.

Team: 

We welcomed Laura back from Maternity leave in January and our lovely Becky welcomed her baby boy, Luca to the world in May.  Hannah H got engaged and we welcomed the lovely Naomi, Maisie and Zoe to the team.

Press: 

We had some exciting press in 2023.  The Guardian and Observer Fashion featured us in their top boutiques to know . I was back on the BBC news talking all about the UK high street.  The Times Fashion did a feature on our Steamery clothes care products and Woman and Home featured us as one of their Fashion experts talking about what to wear this festive season.

We did some fun collaborations this year with The Alban Way and influencer Wears My Money.  Watch this space for more to come…

The Dressing Room Catalogue: 

We launched issue 2 and 3 of our Dressing Room catalogue which you loved.  The Spring brochure was inspired by warm weather and holidays with a fun, vibrant theme.  September was a glamorous take on the season’s collections which we shot in a beautiful location in Hertford.  We had so much fun putting these together.

Industry and Travel: 

Never one to sit still, 2023 was a year of being out and about at industry events and trade shows.  Attending the Drapers Future of Fashion event with Jenna was a great way to think about future planning and ideas for the business.  Trade shows were aplenty, scouting out new collections and product to inspire you.  Myself and Charley went to Copenhagen Fashion week for a fully immersive and inspirational trip.  The shows were incredible from Stine Goya, Munthe and Baum and the street style was just as inspirational.  We came back full of energy and ideas for the future and the trip inspired our Autumn event.

Earlier in the year we were invited to Paris to view the Ganni collection as their first new stockist for over 5 years.  Jenna and I had a fabulous day, the weather was amazing and we had just enough time to do a quick tour of some great little spots in le Marais and the latin quarter.

New Brands:

Following a bit of a shake up for our brand mix for Autumn 23, we welcomed 15 new brands to the business:

Ganni, Ivy Ellis, Podeny, The knotty ones, Leon & Harper, Clothes Doctor, Sui Ava, Kerzon, Simone a Bordeaux, Commando, Corinne, Kknekki, It’s 9pm, Moea, Rainbow Colours.

And relaunched 3 with Rachel Jackson London, A Beautiful Story and Love stories.

To finish the year we wanted to celebrate by giving back to you, so we launched our Advent giveaway with a different prize from 1^st-24^th December and you loved it! 

So, looking back on 2023, there have been many challenges but as a team we have dug deep and pulled out all the stops to create an immersive and exciting retail adventure for you all and had plenty of fun along the way.  Thankyou to all of you that have supported this small business this year, it means the world to us and we hope to keep on making you smile through fashion for 2024 and beyond.
