Damson Madder was born in the spring of 2020. Its founder, having worked in the fashion industry for years, had become disillusioned by some of the questionable practices behind the scenes. Seeking a slower, more considered, and more responsible approach to fashion, the aim was to create innovative and exciting clothing designs while prioritising sustainable practices.

The team began working with various recycled and organic fabrics, experimenting with natural dyes. During the colour testing phase, two early favourites emerged: 'Damson' (plum) and 'Madder' (flower). Thus, Damson Madder was born.

Today, responsible practices, transparency, and small-batch production remain the core principles of Damson Madder. The brand has developed a unique design signature that is playful, ultra-feminine, and champions creative innovation.

Damson Madder is run by a small, proudly female-led team from its studio in Camden, North London, where the brand was founded and continues to operate. Collections are designed 12-18 months in advance, allowing ample time to develop products, build strong, respectful relationships with suppliers and factories, and ensure the highest quality and fit for every garment produced.

Is Damson Madder Ethical?
Damson Madder releases limited collections of around 15-35 styles per drop, producing only what is expected to sell, with an average of 100-350 pieces per style. This approach minimises waste and prevents excess stock from ending up in landfills.

The brand remains small and deliberate in its approach, embodying the principles it was founded upon.
